Rural Long County, Georgia, has long been run by the corrupt Judge Lawton Wells. Only now, though—as its people fight over beliefs about how things should be run—does the opportunity arise for the Colombian cartel to make its way through the small-town borders.
Wallace Fairchild, Wells’s longtime friend, has no qualms in allowing Long County to become corrupted by crime. And when a new interstate is finally finished, drug smuggling only increases. While drug dealing is nothing new for Wells and Fairchild, it is for the unsuspecting folks who just entered town.
When soothsayer and healer Granny Gator arrives, she reveals that the danger all over town mysteriously links its citizens together. As leaders take advantage of each other and others find relationships put to the test, judges, sheriffs, and drug dealers continue to fight for authority.
But will a new Long County sheriff finally be able to clean up the corruption once and for all?
